PROTECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION NOTICE AND CONSENT TO PROCESS PERSONAL INFORMATION
(“POPI Notice”)
1. INTRODUCTION
We care about privacy issues and want you to be familiar with how we collect, disclose, and otherwise use (“Process”) information about you. This Protection of Personal Information (POPI) Notice forms part of the Shade Group (Pty) Ltd trading as Cloud Quote Africa (“Cloud Quote”) terms and conditions. It seeks to explain how Cloud Quote may Process your Personal Information (“PI”). If you do not agree with any term/s of this POPI Notice, you must cease your access of our website, social media pages and software application immediately.

We may collect PI directly from you, and where lawful and reasonable, we may collect PI about you from third parties and publicly available sources.
We may collect your PI through our website, social media pages we control (“Social Media Pages”), and software applications we make available for use on or through computers and mobile devices (“Apps”), and through any of our offline activities, such as when you provide your PI on the phone or in person (“Offline Activities”) (collectively, including the website, Apps, software, Social Media Pages, and Offline Activities (“Services”)).

Location data may be collected, but only with consent. We will only share his information with our mapping provider for the purpose of mapping customer locations.

When you use or access our Services from a device, we may collect information such as your unique device ID and your location, date and time of usage. If you download and use an App, we and our service providers may track and collect App usage data, such as the date and time the App on your device accesses our servers and what information and files have been downloaded to the App based on your device number, as well as any other Personal Information specified by the App in its terms or notices.

5. CONSEQUENCE OF WITHHOLDING CONSENT OR PERSONAL INFORMATION
Should you refuse to provide Cloud Quote with Personal Information which is required, or refuse to consent to the processing, Cloud Quote will be unable to engage with you, provide products or Services, or enter into any agreement with you.
6. DISCLOSURE
We may disclose your personal information if you have agreed to it, where we have a legal duty to disclose, or to protect our rights. This includes sharing within our group of companies, with third-party service providers, or in the event of a business merger or sale.
7. THIRD PARTIES
Cloud Quote will share your PI with service providers and affiliates only for the purpose of processing in compliance with this Notice. All third parties are subject to written contractual arrangements regarding POPI Act compliance.
8. CROSS BORDER TRANSFER
PI may be transferred outside South Africa (specifically to servers in London, United Kingdom). By using our services, you consent to this transfer. We ensure that the recipient is bound by obligations no less than those imposed by the POPI Act.
9. SECURITY SAFEGUARDS
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access and use.
10. RETENTION
We keep your PI only as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected, to maintain our relationship with you, or to comply with legal obligations.
11. MARKETING
We may market to you via post, telephone, or electronic channels. You can revoke your consent to marketing communications at any time.
12. ACCESS TO YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

13. CORRECTION OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
You are responsible for keeping your PI up to date. You have the right to request that we update, correct, or delete your information.
14. WITHDRAWAL OF CONSENT
You may withdraw consent at any time. We will delete your PI within a reasonable time, though this may end our ability to provide services to you.
15. CHANGES TO THIS NOTICE
We may amend this Notice from time to time. Please check our website periodically for updates.
